Thomas Govier has 24 years of experience in the real estate sector, including 5 years in England, where he graduated in Property Management from the College of Estate Management at the University of Reading. There, he worked for DTZ, one of the largest global real estate consulting firms. He was founder of the Brazilian chapter of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), a leading entity in the training of Real Estate professionals, of which he is a senior member.
In Brazil, from 1999 to September 2005, he worked for the renowned international real estate company JLL ? Jones Lang LaSalle, where he held the position of Associate Director of Tenant Representation, after being responsible for the Valuation and Strategic Consulting area, operating throughout Latin America.
He is perfectly bilingual (English and Portuguese), and with a course in Real Estate Law for non-lawyers at FMU, which, combined with his experience in several areas, puts him in an excellent position to serve national and multinational clients.
As a member of RICS, he was invited by IBAPE, the Brazilian Institute of Appraisals and Expertise, to participate in the formulation of new appraisal standards, and participated with Secovi in the committee that debated guidelines for classifying buildings in São Paulo.
At Ocupantes, he is Managing Partner, working with international clients in search, leasing, purchase and demobilization of industrial properties and offices.
